While juggling the shared blog and liaising with sixth other schools, Year 8 produced recorded reports and also broadcast live to the BHS Internet TV Channel. Well done to all of those involved.
On Thursday 15th March, Year 8 students at Brentside High School once again participated in the BBC School Report News Day. Throughout the year they have been practising collecting news stories and dealing with the rigours of reporting what they have researched.
Thursday was a special day as Brentside High School also had the responsibility of being a 'hub school' for the newsday and six schools from the UK linked up to provide up to the minute news of their own news stories posting their work onto the Brentside High School News Blog.

Overseeing the technical aspects of the day at Brentside was Year 9 student Josh, whose interest in film making and video editing extend beyond the school day, including involvement in various external film clubs ensured that all media was dealt with effectively - watch out for his videos on this site in the future.
Also, on Wednesday 14th March, prior to the newsday, two students were chosen to hold a special interview using Skype with the United Nations Special Representative for Children and ArmedConflict, Radhika Coomaraswamy who spoke from her hotel room in Dubai.

We would like to say a special thanks to all our Year 8 students and to the six other schools who posted their news to our blog and to Mrs Coomaraswamy for taking the time to speak to us... well done everyone!
